Goonz Integrate Chainlink VRF to Secure Randomization for Marketplace Debut Raffles
We are thrilled to announce that Goonz, a lifestyle and streetwear brand born on the blockchain, has integrated the Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) on the Polygon network for our debut marketplace draw. By integrating Chainlink — the industry’s front-runner in decentralized networks — we can ensure a tamper-proof and auditable process for winner selection.
A lack of transparency often overshadows traditional fashion and streetwear draws. However, with the introduction of VRF, we’re providing an unparalleled level of transparency. Participants can have complete faith in the fairness of the draw as each individual will have the capability to independently verify the authenticity of the winner selection process.

Why Chainlink? ⛓️
To ensure a fair and secure raffle process for everyone, a reliable and independently-verifiable random number generator (RNG) was required. However, finding RNG solutions for smart contracts isn’t easy as there are several security considerations to prevent external manipulation.
After exploring various options, we selected Chainlink VRF for a few key reasons:
- backed by cutting-edge academic research
- supported by a time-tested oracle network
- ensured security through cryptographic proofs generated and verified on the blockchain
The reuslt? A guarantee that every random number used in our smart contract is legitimate and can be trusted.
How does it work? 🤔
Chainlink VRF works by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The Goonz smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This provides our users with automated and verifiable assurances directly on-chain that the randomness underpinning the winner selection process is provably fair and was not tampered with by the oracle, outside entities, or the Goonz team.
